The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a pretty big place. It’s a universe filled with superheroes, villains, and all of the colorful characters in between. Since it started in 2008 with Iron Man, we’ve seen dozens of actors join this world to play some iconic roles. Some of them we haven’t seen for years like Samuel L Jackson or Robert Downey Jr. while others have had their time under the spotlight and now are taking a backseat role (we’re looking at you, Mark Ruffalo). So here are our favorite MCU characters with the biggest roles:

Steve Rogers

You’re no Captain America if you don’t know who Steve Rogers is. This super soldier served in World War II before being frozen and revived decades later by S.H.I.E.L.D., which used his DNA to create more superheroes like him (including Bucky). He joined the Avengers and became their leader after Thor left Earth to find Odin.

Captain America has had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but he remains one of Marvel’s most beloved characters, and not just because he can throw his shield around like nobody’s business!

Natasha Romanoff

Natasha Romanoff is a Russian spy and former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., who uses the codename Black Widow. Born in Russia, Romanoff was raised by her father to be an assassin and trained in martial arts as well as various weapons such as knives and guns. She later moved to America where she became a member of S.H.I.E.L.D., working alongside Nick Fury during his time as director (2008-2012). Her most notable role came during The Avengers when she joined Captain America’s team after Loki invaded Earth with his army of Chitauri aliens, helping them defeat him once again before going off on her own adventures elsewhere in space!

Clint Barton

Clint Barton is a member of the Avengers and the brother of Wanda Maximoff. He was a SHIELD agent before he joined the Avengers, and he has been a member of the team for quite some time. Clint was also married to Mockingbird, who died in one of their adventures together (it’s complicated).

Clint has had many different superhero identities over his life Hawkeye, Ronin, and Goliath among them but these days he sticks with Hawkeye because it suits him best.

Bucky Barnes

Bucky Barnes was Captain America’s sidekick, but he didn’t stay dead for long. In Captain America: Civil War, Bucky was killed by the Winter Soldier when he attempted to help his old friend escape. However, Black Panther brought him back to life with Wakandan tech and now he’s known as White Wolf (and sometimes Winter Soldier).

In Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2, Cap and his crew will have to face off against Thanos’ army in order to save Earth from utter destruction and hopefully bring Bucky back from where ever he went after disappearing at the end of the Civil War!

T’Challa / Black Panther

T’Challa is the king of Wakanda, and his father was killed by Ulysses Klaue. He has super strength, speed, and reflexes, as well as a suit that gives him enhanced abilities. T’Challa is also an expert fighter who can use many weapons including swords and spears.

Tony Stark / Iron Man

Tony Stark is the CEO of Stark Industries, and he’s also known as Iron Man. He was born on May 29, 1970, a date that has been immortalized in comics history as “Stark Day.”

His character has been a part of some of Marvel’s biggest films: Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Iron Man 3 (2013), and The Avengers (2012).

Although he may not be able to fly like Superman or shoot lasers from his eyes like Cyclops, Tony Stark is still one of the most powerful superheroes out there.

Bruce Banner / The Hulk (now played by Mark Ruffalo)

Bruce Banner is a genius scientist who was caught in an explosion, which gave him the power to turn into the Hulk when he gets angry. The only person who can control the Hulk is Bruce himself, and he’s known as one of the founding members of The Avengers. He has a son named Bruce Jr., whom fans have been waiting for since his birth was teased in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, is a mutant with the ability to manipulate probability and reality. She is the daughter of Magneto and grew up with her twin brother Pietro (Quicksilver). When they were young, Wanda and Pietro were kidnapped by Hydra which experimented on them so that they could use their powers for evil purposes.

Wanda was eventually rescued by Captain America who convinced him to join his team: The Avengers. While working with them she fell in love with Vision but he rejected her because he thought it wouldn’t work out between them because he wasn’t human; however, after seeing how much pain she was going through when he left without saying goodbye he decided not only would he come back but also stay around forever which made her very happy!

Nowadays she’s still part of The Avengers where she helps protect Earth from threats like Thanos who wants nothing more than complete destruction for all life forms across our galaxy…but don’t worry about him yet because there are plenty more MCU characters we need to discuss first!”

Scott Lang / Ant-Man

Scott Lang is an ex-convict who was caught stealing from Hank Pym. He was sent to prison and while there, Pym decided to give him a second chance. He gave Lang the Ant-Man suit and told him that if he could use it for good instead of evil, then he would be free from his sentence and able to see his daughter again.

Ant-Man became one of the most popular members of The Avengers team because he had such a great sense of humor about himself and his powers.

Peter Parker / Spider-Man (now played by Tom Holland)

Peter Parker is a high school student who lives with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. He’s also an orphan, having lost both parents at a young age. After being bitten by a radioactive spider and gaining spider-like powers, he becomes the superhero Spider-Man.

He’s friendly, and funny and has many friends at his school – including MJ (Mary Jane Watson) and Ned Leeds (Ned).

Peter Quill / Star-Lord (now played by Chris Pratt)

Peter Quill / Star-Lord (now played by Chris Pratt)

Peter Quill is the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy and also a human from Earth. He was a former US astronaut who became stranded in space after he stole an orb containing an Infinity Stone called Power Stone during an alien invasion on his homeworld, Earth. With his newfound powers, he became known as Star-Lord and assembled a group consisting of Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot to help him find out why Thanos wanted him dead so badly that he would hire Ronan The Accuser to destroy Xandar just so he could get his hands on all six Infinity Stones.
